Our National Sex Offender Public Registry Search simplifies checking state registries with one comprehensive service.
The
business risk from an offender mistakenly hired is high
in part due to the pattern of repeat offenses. The U.S.
Justice Department estimates that there are 500,000
registered sex offenders in the country.
To help employers identify these offenders, Validex searches records from 45 states and two territories. California, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, and New York make their data available but not for third-party disclosure and/or resale.
This service reports public information regarding the location of offenders, who, in most cases, have been convicted of sexually violent offenses against adults and children and certain sexual contact and other crimes against victims who are minors. The service should not be confused with a state department of corrections search.
